TBL!

Following on from the excitement of last week's Animal Ball for Elephant Family I have had an overwhelming amount of press for the lizard piece I made that was worn by Cara Delevingne (did I mention that...!) and the flamingo masks for Ruth and Mary Powys. But Cara wore another piece later in the evening, an amazing black leather mask that was created by designer Jacqueline Wharam of TBL Design and in some places I've been credited for making it - not that I wouldn't be absolutely delighted to put my name to it but I must put the record straight!! I've made sure to be really clear in any tweets or comments or interviews that my piece was the little green lizard but these things happen and I'd hate to take any credit for another person's hard work!!!

I'm glad to have found out who was the maker of the other mask, and really enjoyed checking out Ms. Wharam's website. It's well worth a look and you can pick up a sexy handmade necklace for between £30 and £120! I particularly love her Oriental Metal and Fringe Necklace in a lovely jade green.

P.S. HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to the Elephant Family charity who have raised over £800,000 from the Animal Ball and auction!!

Elephant Family's The Animal Ball on London's Clarence House lawns and in Lancaster House

Last night the amazing Animal Ball took place in London in aid of the Elephant Family charity. Their work is vital and they strive to protect and secure habitat for these wonderful creatures and others, as well as working with local communities to reduce human/elephant conflict and lobbying governments and corporations.
Recently I got a very exciting email from Elephant Family asking me to take part in making a pair of masks for their masked Animal Ball, and I was delighted to make two lizard masks, inspired mainly by Fijian iguanas which have become endangered. For the first, I made a little lizard that perches on the head and can be worn with my Torchon lace wire veil, made in reptilian green that I thought gave it a scaly (but glam!) appearance.  Even more excitingly, I was invited to create 2 identical flamingo masks for the charity's CEO's, the beautiful twins Ruth and Mary Powys!
Last night the first images arrived on the internet and WOW what a response!! Amazingly, and I'm still in total shock, my little lizard was spotted not only on Charles Delevingne as he chatted with Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, but was also photographed on his daughter Cara Delevingne, who looked absolutely amazing!! WOW again!!! Ruth and Mary Powys were dazzling in their coral coloured dresses and flamingo headgear, what more could a designer ask for?! THANK YOU so much for wearing my masks, and THANK YOU Elephant Family for such a great opportunity, and hope you raised lots of money for your wonderful charity!! xx
